Lapeer County: in 1840, Jonathan Sweet built a store here. About 1846, he sold it to John M. Lamb and the place became known as Lamb's Corners. Sanford Kendrick had the name of the township changed from Lomond to Dryden, honoring the English poet, John Dryden, and when the Look's Corners post office was transferred here on Feb. 16, 1846, it took the same name.
