Founded in 1884, named by Wallace Huntley for Civil War Colonel Charles Lum. Huntley served under Col. Lum in the Tenth Michigan Infantry, popularly known as the Detroit Light Guards. In 1892 the P.O. & N. Railroad came through and built a depot. A P.O. operated here from 1884-1964. [Michigan County Atlas - Kappa Map Group]
