General Information:

Opened in 1926, the Lasky could seat around 1000. It was closed by 1950, and its interior soon after gutted for retail use. It has served in this capacity ever since, most recently as a furniture store (which is now closed). Though its facade is relatively plain, and devoid of ornamentation, its Art Deco-era marquee is still fairly intact, and has survived as signage for whatever store might have been housed in the former theater at the time.

The Detroit and Hamtramck locations are one and the same. The theater is actually in Detroit on the corner of Joseph Campau and the Davison Frwy. The building was last used as a Furniture Express store and is currently for sale.
